Manchester City are interested in Joshua Kimmich, but Bayern Munich's restless star is best suited to title rivals Arsenal.
Joshua Kimmich could leave Bayern Munich this summer, and Arsenal has been tipped as the ideal destination.
talkSPORT reported earlier this year how the 29-year-old is doing. being monitored for Manchester City and Liverpool in the midst of their contractual situation.
With only one year left on his contract in the Allianz StadiumIt remains to be seen whether the German international will end his nine-year spell in Bavaria.
But in a possible blow to the Citizens and Reds' pursuit of the player, Arsenal has been pointed out as the perfect place for Kimmich should he decide to leave.
This is stated by European football expert Kevin Hatchard, who believes KimmichThe versatility of being able to play as a midfielder or inverted right back makes him best suited for the Emirates Stadium.
Speaking on Hawksbee & Jacobs, Hatchard was asked what kind of remuneration Bayern could charge for the former RB Leipzig star, to which he replied: “It's always difficult to know with only one year left.
“And the other thing that plays into it is how much interest there will be. I suspect a lot.”
“Because you have a guy there, who yes, his form has not been very good in recent years for the club and the country.
“But in midfield, he can be excellent in the right conditions, and you don't have many guys who can play that full-back role in the way he can.
“If you look at Arsenal, for example, they love full-backs who can be quite versatile and can invest and move into midfield.
“Well, he's absolutely someone who could do that.”
Arsenal will get a closer look at Kimmich later this month when the Gunners take on Bayern in the Champions League quarter-finals, with the first leg taking place at the Emirates on Tuesday, live on talkSPORT.
Although Kimmich remains a key player for Bayern, Hatchard explained that they could leave him behind.
He commented: “There has been timid talk that Bayern wants to sit down with him, wanting to discuss what is going to happen.
“But there is nothing concrete at the moment and Bayern will have to make big decisions in the summer about the direction they want to take.
“Has this group been together for a long time? Do they need to restructure it? Do they need some new personalities to move the team forward?”
“I think Alphonso Davies will leave, I think that's clear, either in the summer or at the end of his contract (in 2025).
“And there has been no real progress with Kimmich at all, and the feeling is that they are going to wait at least until the summer to decide what they want to do.
“One of the main reasons for this is that Thomas Tuchel has come in and publicly undermined Kimmich, in terms of saying that no one was untouchable.
“He's taken Kimmich out pretty early in some games, and Kimmich is clearly pretty upset about it and unsettled by it.
“That he is as safe for Bayern as he would have been in years past may no longer be the case.”
