Manchester City are ready to challenge Barcelona in order Dani Olmo.
The Spain international has been heavily linked with an exit from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig following a superb run at Euro 2024.
Alongside their ongoing push for Nico Williams, Barcelona are trying to structure a deal for Olmo, with RB Leipzig hoping to secure a €60m deal for him.
His previous release clause was set at that fee and the German club want to bring in a similar amount for the 26-year-old.
Barcelona's current offer is an upfront payment of 40 million euros, with 20 million euros in installments, which Leipzig will not accept.
According to reports from the French outlet Foot marketCity have now made a bid for Olmo, despite an incoming meeting between his agent and Barcelona this weekend.
The Premier League champions are in a better position to meet Leipzig's asking price and Barcelona will have to modify their offer to stay in the race for Olmo in the coming weeks.
