Manchester City are set to sign Savinho, also known as Savio, on a five-year-contract.

The 20-year-old has been part of the club’s City Football Group since 2022, but did not feature for Troyes and spent last season on loan at Girona.

The Brazil international will now become the first signing of the summer transfer window for City, where he will sign a long-term contract through to 2029.

City have informed Savio of their intention for him to be part of their first-team plans under head coach Pep Guardiola next season.

Savio spent four years at Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro before joining CFG in 2022, when he was assigned to French club Troyes.

The forward did not play for Troyes — who suffered back-to-back relegations to the French third-tier — as he spent the 2022-23 season on loan at PSV Eindhoven, where he played eight first-team games, before spending the 2023-24 campaign at Girona.

Savio starred with nine league goals and 10 assists as the Catalan club finished third in La Liga and secured their first ever qualification for the Champions League next season.

His form at club level saw him called up to the Brazil international squad this year, for whom he has scored one goal in five appearances.
