Oscar Bobb has dealt a blow to Manchester City with an injury that will see him miss the start of the season, talkSPORT understands.
The 21-year-old suffered a broken leg and now faces a period on the sidelines.
It is not yet clear how long the Norwegian international will be out of action.
Bobb, who has enjoyed an impressive preseason for the CitizensHe is currently being evaluated by the club's doctors.
And it is believed that there is a possibility that the youngster will travel to Barcelona for treatment.
The City academy graduate was considered a key player under Pep Guardiola this campaign after Julian Alvarez's triumph. Exchange for 81 million pounds to Atletico Madrid.
He scored twice during the club's pre-season tour of the United States, where he scored against Celtic and Chelsea.
And he was a star player who helped City beat rivals Manchester United in last weekend's Community Shield triumph.
