Manchester City vs Ipswich: They can't stop scoring

Haaland's stats at Manchester City are simply ridiculous.

He has now reached 100 games for the club and in those appearances has contributed to a staggering 106 goals.

The Norwegian has scored 91 goals and provided 15 assists at an average of one goal contribution every 76 minutes.

As part of his 91 goals, he has also scored nine hat-tricks.

As well as his personal success, Haaland has also won five major trophies at the club and is aiming to win many more this season.

For Ipswich, the prospect of facing him will fill them with fear and rightly so…

Haaland has scored against all 22 teams he has played against in the Premier League and now the Tractor Boys are his new prey.

He will be looking to match that statistic with the 23 teams he has faced this weekend and, if he scores, he will reach 14 goals in 10 top-flight appearances during the month of August.

Manchester City vs Ipswich: team news

There will be some concern over new signing Savinho for Man City after the Brazilian was substituted against Chelsea due to a knock.

Phil Foden replaced him and could potentially break into the starting lineup if he is deemed fit enough after limited training sessions.

Jack Grealish is recovering from a problem while Kyle Walker, Juan Piedras and Nathan Ake played no part at Stamford Bridge despite being on the bench.

A big boost for City could be the return of Rodri who has already returned to training, but Oscar Bobb will be out until December.

As for Ipswich, Wes Burns limped off the pitch against Liverpool and could be doubtful for this match.

Newcomers Sammie Szmodics and Jens Cajuste could get some minutes while Kalvin Phillips He will not be available against his parent club.

  • Ipswich's Kieran McKenna will become the 14th different manager whose first Premier League away game has come against the reigning champions. None of the previous 13 have won (D2 L11), with Mark McGhee (1-1 v Manchester United in 1994) and Claudio Ranieri (3-3 v Manchester United in 2000) the only ones to have picked up a point.

Man City vs Ipswich: What's been said?

After beating Chelsea, Manchester City manager Guardiola admitted he “didn't expect” to play so well at Stamford Bridge.

He said: “I didn't expect it. We are far from our best form, so three points are good news. The bad news is that we have 65 games ahead of us.”

“We have an advantage, it's our ninth season together so we know each other well.

“Of course there are mistakes that need to be improved, but we talk about it. The difference in becoming champions was our body language. How do we behave?

“It's the bad moments of the season and the games that define the great teams.

“It's an honor for me to be in charge of these guys. I'm so lucky that I couldn't say more.

“There is a plan, defensive, offensive. But then, it's how we celebrate the good times and recover from the bad times.”

“That's what defines these teams and nobody talks about it. For a while we couldn't win at Stamford Bridge. This is a big step.”
