Manchester United and Liverpool among 4 clubs also interested in the target of Barcelona – but the candidate leaves
Defender of Bayer Leverkusen Jonathan Tah he was widely expected to leave the club this summer, with his contract running out next year. Available for free in four months, it is no surprise that he is already emerging as a top target for a number of clubs after a stellar season.
Barcelona made a late attempt to sign Tah but ran into a stubborn Leverkusen and a lack of funds. However, they are expected to continue their interest in the 28-year-old. A major boost is that Bayern Munich, who are said to have agreed personal terms with Tah months ago, are no longer the frontrunners for his signature. BILD (via Sport) report that relations between the German international and the Bavarian party are strained, after Bayern failed to get a deal on the line and left him in an awkward position.

His information is that Bayern is outside looking for how it is, although it is clear that it can change. On the contrary, Manchester UnitedLiverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are all credited with interest in him as well.
Tah confirmed that he will not renew his contract with Leverkusen, and so it will be an opportunity on the market. Barcelona is not likely to be able to give the English teams a battle in terms of money for Tah, and will mainly rely on his requests from Barcelona to have a chance. However, with four of their five central defenders out of contract in the next two years, Barcelona may feel it is worth stretching.
