Manchester United celebrate Kobbie Mainoo's mentality after goal in Liverpool battle
Kobbie Mainoo showed how focused and determined he is to succeed at Manchester United after another great performance.
The 18-year-old scored a superb curling shot for the Premier League giants in their 2-2 draw against rival Liverpool on Sunday.
It was a goal that sums up his great season in Unitedwith the teenager now integral to the team despite his age.
However, for the third time in eight days, they failed to maintain the lead in the final minutes, with Mohamed Salah equalizing in the 84th minute.
Mainoo recognizes that it is something that needs to change, and United applaud his mentality during his post-match interview.
“I feel like in the second half we came together and figured things out and were much, much better,” he said, with a brain emoji included in the caption of the X post.
“But watching the games is what will give us points and that is what will make us move up the table. That is what will make us win games, so these are the things that matter.”
Having scored such a sensational first goal at Old Trafford, he would have been forgiven for showing his enthusiasm in front of the media.
However, he remained calm and insisted that the team's result is above personal achievements in statements to Sky Sports.
“I mean, of course, it's an incredible feeling, the first professional goal at Old Trafford. And to do it in this game is also incredible.

“But, like I say, at the end of the day, we didn't get the three points, so I can't be too happy.”
Mainoo's goal was his third for the club, all of them during his breakthrough campaign in 23 appearances.
His performances could make him a contender for United's Player of the Season award and when asked to sum up his final few months, he told the club: “Nice, tough.
“But I'm playing for my boyhood club on the biggest stage, so to be able to adapt, for these fans and everything around them, I can't complain.”
Mainoo played 85 minutes of the clash at Old Trafford in which Luis Díaz scored Liverpool's first goal in the first half.
An audacious effort from Bruno Fernandes brought United level before Mainoo scored their goal, only for a late Salah penalty to make it 2-2.
