Manchester United, favorite to sign Denzel Dumfries

According to an Italian media Calciomercato, manchester united considered favorites to sign Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries during the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils could invest in a new right-back at the end of the campaign, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka set to enter the final year of his contract. If he does not agree to the terms of a renewal, the club could make the decision to sell him for a reasonable fee.

This could make them invest in a new signing and Calciomercato reports that Man United are in the front seat to recruit Dumfries, who is also in a contractual deadlock with Inter at the moment.

The Dutchman earns £2.1m a year at the Serie A giants. His new demands are said to be high on the club. This is expected to lead to his departure and his contract will expire in June next year.

Good signing

Dumfries began his career as a right back, but has played in the right back position for Inter. This has brought out the best in him and he has made several useful contributions in goals.

In the current campaign, he has 2 goals and 4 assists to his name despite being in and out of the starting eleven. A move to Old Trafford could make him the first-choice right-back.

Diogo Dalot has done a credible job from the position but does not possess the attacking attributes of Dumfries. The Dutchman is a powerful defender who likes to make overlapping runs regularly.

He may be 27, but he could have a similar impact to Kieran Trippier on Newcastle UnitedEdit. The 33-year-old has been a revelation for the Magpies with 1 goal and 11 assists this season.

Dumfries is much younger than the Englishman and would be a good signing for the coming seasons. United may have to Pay a fee in the region of £43m to sign the versatile Inter star.
