The former Manchester United The defender has become one of Sky Sports' most popular pundits and commentators since joining after retiring in 2011.

But as the Red Devils begin their new Premier League season against Fulham, Live exclusively on talkSPORTNeville will make his debut in his new role with an American media outlet: NBC.

In a statement on their official X account, the broadcasters said: “NBC Sports is proud to welcome Gary Neville The team as a special collaborator throughout the 2024/25 season!

“The Manchester United legend will make weekly appearances on NBC Sports’ studio coverage as part of the partnership with Sky Sports.”

Neville will also appear on NBC on Sunday, August 18.

NBC's studio team will travel to the UK to perform special on-location shows from Friday to Sunday.

Neville will also join live studio coverage from the NBC Sports International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Connecticut, several times this season.

The 49-year-old will be alongside Tim Howard, with whom he played 52 times at Old Trafford.

However, the NBC role isn't the only new project she's taken on this week.

Neville co-founded University Academy 92 (UA92) in Manchester, and Thursday was A-level results day.

This is when Year 13 students find out their A Level grades and, for some, whether they have gotten into university.

And footage on the university's TikTok shows Neville taking part in calling out to those who wanted to join UA92, even those who didn't make it.

As Neville takes the phone from one of the staff members to speak to a prospective student, he can be heard saying: “Hi Charlie, how are you? I’m Gary Neville.”

Then the camera cuts to Neville continuing: “It's a bad day, what happened to you? Well, look, I always think that life is like a football match.

“Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose and sometimes you draw. Obviously, this morning you feel a bit disappointed.

“But what we do here at UA92 is that we have many examples of students, young people like you who have gone through the same process, through the same type of disappointment on this day.

“But they have bounced back very quickly. We offer great support to people like you who are disappointed today, but we allow you to see that there is a bright future, and you definitely have a bright future.

“Sometimes you don’t get the results you want, so keep your head up, right?”
