Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand questioned by Laura Woods over claim about Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka

That is according to Fernando Riverwho has stated that the Citizens' attacking midfielder has always performed at a higher level.
Foden He contributed a goal and an assist on Tuesday night in City's 3-1 victory in Copenhagen in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.

Giving his opinion on the England internationals on TNT Sports, presenter Laura Woods asked Ferdinand if he thinks Foden is world class.
To which he said: “I think you have to look at it that way. Because of what he does for the team, he is important for the team.”
“With assists, with goals, with pace of play, especially this season.
“I think it needs to be in the conversation or at least getting close to it.”
gunners Fan Woods was quick to comment on a comment made by Ferdinand in his VIBE Podcastwhere he insisted that Saka cannot be held in the same esteem.
This is despite Saka having more Premier League goals and the same number of assists as Foden this season, as well as producing better numbers last season.
When asked why Saka cannot be considered world class, Ferdinand stated: “Because I don't think he has done it at the highest level, winning trophies in a team like this.
“You have to understand, respect and appreciate, Phil Foden has done this, where the medals are awarded, he has performed.
“He's done it against the best teams. Consistently.
“Saka needs the opportunity to perform on that platform, that level, consistently and then we will see where he is. You can consider it then.”
For the second season running, both Saka and Foden are in a title race, with Arsenal and City level on points in the top flight.
But despite their on-field rivalry, the pair will play key roles at Euro 2024 in Germany with the Three Lions this summer.
