Manchester United open talks with Chelsea over Raheem Sterling transfer that could take Jadon Sancho elsewhere

Manchester United and Chelsea have held exploratory talks over a deal for Raheem Sterling, talkSPORT understands.

Sterling has been left out of the Blues' first-team plans, having been stripped of his squad number and omitted Enzo MarescaHe is training and now he needs a change.

On Tuesday, the The Telegraph newspaper Manchester United sporting director reported Dan Ashworth had opened talks with the Blues over a deal for currently outcast Sterling.

The outlet also reports that the two sides have discussed swapping him for the disgraced Manchester United winger himself, Sterling's former England teammate. Jadon Sancho.

Sancho has been left out of Manchester United's squad for their matches on June 20. Fulham and Brighton so far.

But The Telegraph reports that the Sterling deal will only progress towards a swap deal for Sancho if it is on his terms.

The outlet also claims that there is another unnamed European club also in contention for Sterling.

talkSPORT reported on Tuesday that Sancho is wanted by four clubswith Chelsea being one of the teams that monitors their situation.

Juventus have been the most serious suitors for the former Borussia Dortmund star, but a move to Turin is far from guaranteed.

“Sancho's fate has already been decided,” talkSPORT's football correspondent Alex Crook said on Monday.

He continued: “They're going to have a hard time selling him. It would be a loan deal again, he still has two years left with an option for a further year on his contract. He has a lot of money.”

“There's talk of Chelsea.”

Asked if a move to Stamford Bridge would suit Sancho, Crook said: “I don't see where he fits in at Chelsea.”

“I would choose Sterling,” he added. “A lot of Manchester United “The fans wouldn't say it, but I think he's better than Sancho. I think he can contribute more to the team.”

For the Chelsea swap to work, Sancho would first have to accept a pay cut.

Secondly, United would have to be willing to sign a player for £300,000 a week. Raheem Sterlingwho wants a permanent move instead of a loan.

Chelsea have a 'Bomb Squad' They are looking to get off their books before transfer deadline day.

That includes Sterling, Ben Chilwell and Trevoh Chalobah.
