Manchester United release seven players but Jonny Evans' future remains in limbo
Jonny Evans remains in talks to sign a new deal with Manchester United and the club announces seven players will leave as free agents.
He 36 years He made a shock return to Old Trafford in 2023 on a one-year deal and played 30 times in all competitions.

But many of United's first-team stars will depart on free transfers, including French duo Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane.
Left-back Brandon Williams is another who will leave when his contract expires on June 30, having fallen down the pecking order in recent seasons.
Academy striker Charlie McNeill, who cost United £750,000 when he was released from City in 2020, he is also on his way out having made just one senior appearance.
Academy teammates Marcus Lawrence and Kie Plumley were also not offered extensions.
Meanwhile, former Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone will leave his role as under-21 player and coach.
