Manchester United star Luke Shaw writes emotional message with England's Euro 2024 fitness update
Manchester United star Luke Shaw has cast doubt on his chances of taking part in Euro 2024 after publishing an emotional letter.
Shaw It was a surprise inclusion in the England team named by Gareth Southgate before the european championship this summer in Germany.
The United star has been injured since February but could return to fitness ahead of the tournament and is also the only left-back included in the Provisional roster of 33 men.
Before the tournament begins, Southgate will reduce his list to seven with only 26 players allowed to travel to the European Championship after a change in the rules.
And Shaw has cast doubt on his chances by posting an emotional update on his injury after watching his team-mates win the FA Cup. city of manchester.
He wrote in a statement on Instagram: “Happy for the boys to lift the trophy at the weekend and finish this season on a positive note.
“As much as it was the result I wanted, it was difficult to see from the stands.
“This has definitely been the most frustrating season for me, I've had setback after setback and I've worked really hard to get back to fitness but things just haven't gone my way.
“I tried really hard to get back before the end of the season and the final, but some things just aren't meant to be.
“There's nothing I want to do more than play and win with manchester united.

“I don't normally react to things I see on social media but there are a lot of people questioning my loyalty to this club and asking me if I'm fit for England but not for United.
“The reality is that I'm not 100 per cent fit for either at the moment, but I'm doing everything I can and constantly working towards it.
“I have been at this club for 10 years with ups and downs and for anyone to question my loyalty is obviously frustrating.
“I appreciate not informing everyone about my injuries and where I am with my recovery, but equally the most important thing for me is that we are supporting the team by playing.
“My biggest goal right now is to stay fit and whatever happens this summer, I'll be ready. Thank you for your patience.”
Shaw has made just 12 appearances this season for United and a total of 962 minutes.
His last appearance was against luton city in February, but he was taken off at halftime and has not been seen since.
As the only left-back in Southgate's squad, it could mean England enter the tournament without a specialist in that position and Kieran Trippier is likely to fill that role.
