Manchester United star Tyrell Malacia was sent to hospital after Marcus Rashford's Range Rover was hit by a 'drunk driver'

Marcus Rashford's Manchester United teammate Tyrell Malacia has been hospitalised after being involved in a crash with a suspected drink driver.

As reported by SunRashford's Range Rover was hit by a black Mercedes on July 16 in Wilmslow, Cheshire, two days before he was handed a six-month driving ban.

Rashford He was in the car behind his Range Rover, which was driven by a friend, with Dutch defender Malacia sitting in the passenger seat of the luxury vehicle.

Both his friend and Malacia were sent to hospital for checks after the collision.

Fortunately, the duo were cleared by doctors to leave after suffering no injuries.

Rashford himself was not directly affected by the incident.

The 55-year-old driver of the Mercedes was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

Following the incident, Rashford and Malacia returned to pre-season training the following day.

Rashford later travelled to the United States on their pre-season tour.

Malacia, however, stayed in Manchester to do fitness work.

The left-back has not played for Manchester United since the final matchday of the 2022/23 season due to a serious knee injury.

After more than a year out of action, Malacia was left out of the preseason tour of the United States as he continues his recovery.

Meanwhile, Rashford is doing his best to enjoy a much more successful campaign this time around.

The striker scored just eight times last season and his inconsistent performances contributed to the Red Devils finishing eighth in the Premier League.

As a result, he was left out of England's Euro 2024 squad as the Three Lions reached the final, which they lost to Spain in Berlin.
