At Manchester United, Jadon Sancho was discarded and left as an afterthought by Erik ten Hag. As the Englishman’s career appeared to be over, his former employers, Borussia Dortmund, offered Sancho a lifeline.
Since returning to the Westfalenstadion, the 24-year-old has reinvigorated his career, becoming a crucial member of the BvB squad. Despite initial fears that Sancho would fail to succeed back in the Bundesliga, the Englishman has proved everyone wrong.
As well as this, he has also inspired Dortmund to reach their third-ever Champions League final, where they will face Real Madrid on June 1. However, due to this success, BvB will have to increase the loan fee that they initially paid United.
Initially, the loan fee combined with Sancho’s salary was set to cost Die Schwarzgelben €3.5 million. Nevertheless, according to Sky Germany, the total cost will now rise to €5 million.
It is understood that talks surrounding a permanent move for Sancho will start after the Champions League final, but with United demanding a significant transfer fee, it remains unlikely that the 24-year-old will make the Westfalenstadion home.
