Marc Guehi writes new message on rainbow armband despite FA warning as Ipswich captain refuses to wear it again
Marc Guehi wears his captain's armband with a message against Ipswich, despite having been warned by the Football Association.
He Crystal Palace The defender appeared to have written on the captain's armband in rainbow colors against Newcastle, but talkSPORT understands escaped any FA punishment for the move.
Now, despite the warning that religious messages are prohibited, Guehi has chosen to handwrite a message on the band once again.
This time, he has written on his rainbow bracelet the reason for his team's clash against ipswich town on Portman Road on Tuesday night with the message: “Jesus loves you.”
His writing was followed by a smiling face.
This comes after Guehi, whose father is a church minister, wrote “I love Jesus” on his bracelet for the previous Palace outing.

All Premier League clubs received a special rainbow armband for their captains to wear to promote Stonewall's Rainbow Laces campaign, which shows their support for LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport.
According to the International Football Association Board (IFAB), “slogans/emblems of initiatives that promote football, respect and integrity” are permitted.
But it is prohibited to have “political, religious or personal slogans, statements or images” written anywhere.
The FA's kit and advertising rules also do not allow players to wear clothing that promotes political or religious messages.
Tractor Boys captain Sam Morsy also made headlines after opting not to wear the armband.
Instead, he wore the usual Premier League armband in the 1–0 loss to Nottingham Forest.
Morsi, who has been capped four times by Egypt, is a practicing Muslim.
He also refused to use the Stonewall band against Palace again.
“Ipswich Town Football Club is committed to being a fully inclusive club that welcomes all,” read a statement from Ipswich released on Monday.
“At the same time, we respect the decision of our captain Sam Morsi, who has chosen not to wear the rainbow captain's armband due to his religious beliefs.
“We will continue to create an environment where everyone is valued and respected, both on and off the court.”
Last season, Sheffield United's Anel Ahmedhodzic chose to wear the usual captain's armband during the Blades' defeat to Liverpool instead of a rainbow one.
