Winners
Nuno Espirito Santo/Callum Hudson Odoi
Nottingham Forest produced an impeccable display away to Liverpool, winning their first game at Anfield since 1969.
Callum Hudson-Odoi came off the bench to score a brilliant 72nd-minute winner to hand new Reds manager Arne Slot's first defeat.
Speaking about Forest's deserved win, Cundy said: “So Nuno, a lot of people felt Hudson-Odoi should have started, the way he set up Nuno, he went there, he held back.
“And he brought Hudson-Odoi on at just the right moment. Well done, he got the winner and if anyone has seen Hudson-Odoi play, he plays on the left wing, opens up his body and fires the ball into the far corner.”
Marcus Rashford
The Manchester United striker repaid Erik ten Hag's faith in starting him by scoring his first goal in any competition since March.
And after coming in for criticism in the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool before the international break, Rashford reminded his critics of what he is capable of.
O'Hara said of the striker: “Rashford deserved to be there today because he played well.
Cundy added: “Once he scored the goal, before the goal, he, like all the other Manchester United players, was second best on the whole pitch, so well done.”
Danny Ings
The West Ham striker has struggled to hit his best form since joining the Hammers in 2022.
But he did have a moment to remember on the trip to Fulham when his goal in the final minute of fifth stoppage time – his first league goal since March – earned Julen Lopetegui's side a share of the win.
Praising the 32-year-old, Cundy said: “Of all the people to come off the bench and score… the much maligned Danny Ings, he can't get anywhere near the starting XI, so well done.
“(Bernd) Leno, I don't know if he could have done a little bit better (to prevent the goal), but it's a good shot.”
Losers
Everton
He Candies They remain stuck at the bottom of the table after losing their opening four top-flight games, and their fans already fear their time in the Premier League may be coming to an end.
They have also become only the second team in Premier League history to lose consecutive games while holding a two-goal lead.
Commenting on his latest failure at Villa Park, O'Hara said: “It's got to be Everton, hasn't it? Everton have to start number one, they were 2-0 up!”
Cundy: “This is heartbreaking and an absolute stab in the heart in so many ways,
“For the second game in a row, they were winning 2-0 and then lost 3-2.”
He added: “They are bottom of the table, with no points and a goal difference of minus nine. This is terrible.”
Jack Stephens
Like Everton, the newly promoted Southampton They have had a shocking start to the season, in which they have also failed to score any points this season.
And captain Stephens has added to his dismay by being sent off against United for a reckless foul Alejandro Garnachowhich means he will still miss the next three games due to suspension.
O'Hara said of the defender: “Red card, foul from behind, he deserved to be sent off.”
Cundy then commented: “It's one of those cases where, as a centre-back, he's out of position, he's in his[United]half, high up the pitch, Garnacho is rounding him.
“And he takes out a lazy leg, he wants to knock him down, the problem he has is that he has left his cleats on his knee, and Garnacho goes, he spins around.
“He made the most of the situation, and why wouldn't you? But it's a bad tackle, once you've been beaten you have to keep winning and he commits a foul and a red card, but the game was already decided at that point.”
O'Hara later said: “Yeah, it was just stupid, he'll get three games (suspension) for that.”
Ebou Adams
Moving away from the Premier League and into the Championship, Derby midfielder Adams was guilty of an embarrassing miss in the 1-0 win over Cardiff.
The Gambian international, who looked destined to score after beating goalkeeper Jak Alnwick, failed to find the target with the goal open at his mercy.
O'Hara said of the missed opportunity: “If you haven't seen this, it's the biggest mistake I've ever seen in my life. He's in front of goal, he did a great job getting the ball to the keeper on the halfway line, and he broke through.”
“Literally, he's the only person in that half and he fails.”
Cundy then chimed in saying, “Well, the defender is closing it out, but the defender can't affect his decision.
“He doesn't even hear it or feel it, and when he hits it, he knows it, the ball doesn't even leave the field and he's on his knees, almost crying. It's an open goal and a terrible mistake.”
