Mark Goldbridge insists Manchester United fallout from Rasmus Hojlund interview is 'made up' and invites other stars to YouTube channel
Mark Goldbridge has invited more Manchester United players to sit down with his YouTube fan channel 'The United Stand' following his interview with Rasmus Hojlund.
Goldbridge's talk with Hojlund has received backlash from some sections of the Red Devils support, while it has been claimed that some of the striker's teammates are not happy about it either; claims he insists were “made up.”
A one-on-one interview with the £72million signing was a huge coup for the fan-run independent channel.
However, shortly after its publication online it was reported that some of the manchester united The players were upset by Hojlund and the club's decision to let the interview continue, due to Goldbridge's public criticism of the team and some of its stars.
The social media fallout went to the next level: Goldbridge sent death threats, while details about The United Stand headquarters and other members of his team were shared online, prompting the police to get involved.
Goldbridge blamed the “vile herd mentality that exists on social media” for the extreme reaction to the interview, which he insists was a hugely positive experience.

He says the initial response to the interview on YouTube was also overwhelmingly positive and praised the club and Hojlund for trying something new.
And the YouTube presenter encouraged more United players to speak to him to help improve positively around and within the club amid a “difficult” season.
Speaking to talkSPORT about the interview and his reaction, Goldbridge said: “When you have an interview with someone like Rasmus HojlundIt's obviously a great first and a pleasure to do that with United Stand, and it just shows the enormity of his audience and the appeal when you have a player like that.
“There was a lot of positivity around this and it got millions of views, so I feel a little bit sorry for the player, actually, and for the club on this, because they have done something that is quite innovative in the sense that they have given us allowed access to do that.
“We were in Carrington for the day, met the player and the communications team and it was a really positive experience. The interview went very, very well and it came out a few weeks ago.
“And then at the weekend there was a made-up story about a locker room meltdown because he had done it, almost behind his back. I know what it is, it's the establishment trying to tear down something that's new, basically. and something that has been done in a way that they cannot do it. So to be honest, it's probably fear.
“But from my point of view, Rasmus was fantastic. If you look at Garnacho, Mainoo and Hojlund, all three boys have done fantastically in a difficult season and that is testament to the personalities they are.
“I can only speak for Rasmus but he was a very impressive young man in relation to his focus and determination, he understands what Man United is about and if he can maintain that mentality, that starts to grow in the Man United dressing room, then they really could (obviously they are going to need a lot of signings from INEOS), but there are bases to build something that can compete with the strong-minded clubs of Liverpool and city of manchesterbecause there is no doubt that there have been problems at Man United and have been that way for a while.
“Man United is very much a work in progress but I can see someone like Rasmus, and I actually told him that in the interview and he didn't acknowledge it because he has leaders in the dressing room, but I said: 'What?' what you're doing and what you've done in your first season in the Premier League, I can see a future leader/captain of Man United and Denmark there,” but that's just me saying that and there's a long way to go to that. happens”.
Asked if he thinks he would be invited back to United's training ground for more player interviews any time soon, he admitted: “Maybe not. It has obviously caused a lot of problems.
“But having said that, the positive side was that a lot of people saw it, a lot of people liked it and, with the exception of one or two outlets (talkSPORT being one of them), there aren't many that can reach that kind of audience.” . that way. The written media knows this and that is why they fight against it.
“I think if I was a Man United player I would look to do it, I really would, because the positivity around it was huge for the club, for the player and I think they should look to do it more.
“I thought it was very well done, it was professionally prepared and planned in advance, we were in Carrington all day so I think they should do more, I think it would be a bit silly not to.
“But we'll see.”
