Mark Goldbridge responds to 'strange' criticism of Rasmus Hojlund's interview from Manchester United teammates
Mark Goldbridge has responded to reports that his interview with Rasmus Hojlund did not go down well with some Manchester United players.
The talkSPORT presenter and YouTuber held a one-on-one meeting with the Red Devils striker, which was seen as a major blow to his independent YouTube channel The united stance.
However, over the weekend it was reported in the we stay united fanzine that “a couple of players” were unhappy about Hojlund's decision to speak to a YouTube channel that “was based on negativity and the killing of United players.”
Responding to the story, Goldbridge said talkSPORT breakfast: “If players don't play well, that's what we do, that's what I grew up with and now it's no different.
“It's a load of nonsense really, that interview took a long time to arrange, it was at Carrington (the club's training ground), all the players, the club, the manager, everyone was fully aware of it.
“When you have commitments with the media, it is no secret that a journalist comes in and does an interview with a player.

“It's just another strange leak, another strange story coming out of manchester united“It's almost as if we had kidnapped Hojlund and conducted an interview behind his back.”
He continued: “It took us a long time to do it, because we're not talkSPORT, it's fan-run media.
“We had to persuade them and show them our big audience, they said it was fine and the player was fine, the club was fine and everything was fine.
“It was done weeks ago and this weekend we heard that a couple of players were not happy with it, that could be anything.

“It was well received, so maybe those players are a little jealous, I don't know, and it may not even be true.”
Fortunately for Hojlund, he is unlikely to lose fans given his extraordinary form at United.
The £72m summer signing has seven goals and one assist in his last six Premier League games and is certainly starting to live up to the hype.
Currently out of action due to an injury he suffered against Luton on February 18, the striker has a chance of returning against Liverpool in the FA Cup on March 17.
