Cristiano Ronaldo revealed his dream post-football role when asked about his former club Manchester United.
The Portugal captain hinted at his future plans and insisted the Red Devils' current problems are not due to Ruben Amorim and the new boss is capable of solving them.
ronaldo showed his support for Amorim stating that “the problem is not always the coach, it is much more than that.”
Speaking at the Globe Soccer Awards In Dubai on Friday, Ronaldo, who made 346 appearances for Man United in two separate spells, said: “The Premier League is the most difficult league in the world.
“All the teams are good, all the teams fight, all the teams run, all the players are strong. Football is different now. There are no easy games anymore.
“I said it a year and a half ago and I will continue to say it: the problem is not the coaches.
“It's like an aquarium. If you keep the fish inside and it's sick, you take it out, fix the problem and put it back in an aquarium, they'll get sick again.”
“This is the problem of manchester united. It's the same.
“If I am the owner of the club, I will make things clear and correct what I think is bad there.”
Ronaldo's comments came after he hinted at his football future, insisting he has no interest in becoming a manager and instead sees it as the owner of a “big club”.
And he added: “I am not a coach. I will never be a coach, president of the club? No. Maybe owner of the club.
“It will depend on the timing and the right opportunities.”
Asked if he had considered any clubs, Ronaldo replied: “Not yet. Some, maybe.”
He was also asked if he had had any direct contact with the Glazers, saying: “I'm still very young, I have a lot of plans and dreams ahead of me.
“But mark my words: I will own a great club. For sure.”
The end of Ronaldo's final tenure at Man United in 2022 came after a very public row with the then boss. Erik ten Hagwhich preceded a television interview with Piers Morgan in which he said that the Glazer family, as owners, “don't care about the club”.
Ronaldo scored 145 goals and assisted 64 during his time at Old Trafford and began his career at Amorim's former club Sporting.
“He did a fantastic job in Portugal with my club Sporting,” said CR7 about the Portuguese coach.
“But the Premier League is a different beast, it's a different league, it's the most competitive league in the world.
“I knew it would be hard and the storm would continue, but the storm will end and the sun will come out.
“Fingers crossed everything will be fine for him and I hope the best for Manchester United because it's a club I still love.”
Amorim recently He admitted that he knows his “job is not secure” heading into Man United's clash against Newcastle, having lost five of his 10 games in charge.
Man United host Newcastle on Monday in their last game of 2024.
