Martin Zubimendi is going through a great spell in his career. Over the summer, he helped Spain win Euro 2024, and has also made an excellent start to the season for club and country – which continued on Saturday when he scored the winning goal – his first in the international football – like La Roja defeated Denmark.
In the preparation of that match, Zubimendi spoke (via Marco) about his love for Real Sociedad. It was linked with Manchester City in recent weeks, but for now at least, he has no desire to leave Donostia-San Sebastian.
“Real Sociedade is a big part of my life. Part of what I am as a person is also thanks to them. I think that the values of the club are in me and well, I want to continue. I have reached the reserve team when I was 18 and Imanol was already there, so the transition from the reserve team to the first team made it a lot easier. Today I can say that he is the coach who marked me the most, he knows me very well.
There is no doubt that Royal Society I am very lucky to have Zubimendi, and his commitment and loyalty cannot be questioned. Barring surprises, it is expected that he will stay at the Reale Arena for many years to come.
