Emi Martínez and Ollie Watkins have been nominated for the EA SPORTS FC 25 Men’s Team of the Year, with voting now open!
Released annually, the Team of the Year builds a squad of the best-performing players in the world from over the past 12 months, with special TOTY Player Items released into EA SPORTS FC 25 and FC Mobile.
Over 70 players have been nominated for inclusion in the men’s side, with the Aston Villa duo among them.
For Martínez, it is the latest acknowledgement on the back of another outstanding year, in which he has continued to excel for both club and country.
In October, he became the first goalkeeper in history to lift the prestigious Yashin Trophy in back-to-back years, before being named The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper 2024 just before Christmas.
Watkins, meanwhile, also enjoyed a terrific 2024. Villa’s 2023/24 top scorer tallied 27 goals and 13 assists in all competitions last season, netting 35 goals in all competitions for the club throughout the calendar year.
For his country, he demonstrated similar, devastating form when called upon. In July, he scored the dramatic late winner in England’s 2-1 win over Holland in the summer, to book his nation’s place in the European Championships Final.
The EA SPORTS FC Team of the Year is chosen by the fans, with voting now open until 7.59am on Monday, January 13. Supporters can pick their team, and vote for Emi and Ollie by clicking below.
