A great week for Emi Martínez got even better with yet another clean sheet for Argentina.
The goalkeeper, who was nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or and shortlisted for the prestigious Yashin Trophy on Wednesday, shut out Chile in Buenos Aires to help his country to a 3-0 victory in World Cup qualifying.
It was his 34th clean sheet in 46 caps, and he has conceded just once in ten internationals since the turn of the year.
Martínez and his compatriots were in a celebratory mood after the game, parading their 2024 Copa América trophy around the stadium.
A game against Jhon Durán’s Colombia comes next on Tuesday, September 10 (ko 9.30pm).
