Emi Martínez has been named Aston Villa Player of the Month for November.
The Argentina goalkeeper took over a third of the overall vote, on the back of a month where he again stood out for Unai Emery’s side, playing every minute in all competitions.
November began with a 4-1 defeat to Spurs, followed by a narrow loss at Club Brugge in the Champions League.
A 2-0 defeat at league leaders Liverpool was next, before another 90-minute haul for Martínez as the Villans drew 2-2 at home to Crystal Palace.
But it was the final game of the month where we saw Martínez’s heroics, against Juventus in the Champions League.
Having paraded his two Yashin Trophies around the Villa Park pitch ahead of kick-off, The World’s Number One pulled off a magnificent stop to claw Francisco Conceição’s effort off the goalline and keep the scores level, as the Villans played out a 0-0 draw with the Italian outfit.
Villa’s top three players in our November poll were:
Emi Martínez 34%
Lucas Digne 11%
Ross Barkley 10%
Thank you to everyone who voted and congratulations, Emi!
