Emi Martínez has been nominated for the Premier League’s Save of the Month award for January.
Aston Villa’s No.1 made a number of fine saves in the month as he kept three clean sheets across all competitions, with an outstanding stop against Everton making the shortlist.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin appeared favourite to score when he went through one-on-one at Goodison Park, but Martínez stood tall before kicking the striker’s effort away with an outstretched leg.
Save of the Month
The save, which was quickly followed by another fine stop from James Garner, helped earn Villa a valuable point on the road in Merseyside.
