Aston Villa welcome Leicester City to Villa Park this afternoon for their second home game of the 2024/25 Women’s Super League season.

Robert de Pauw’s side will be looking for their first win of the new league season.

Villa were last in action last weekend as they travelled to take on Brighton & Hove Albion on the south coast.

Goals from Rachel Daly either side of the break weren’t enough to secure the Villans a point as they fell to a 4-2 defeat.

Nikita Parris, Pauline Bremer, Fran Kirby and Michelle Agyemang were on target for Brighton in an action packed encounter that also saw Paula Tomàs, for Villa, and Poppy Pattinson, for the hosts, get sent off for seperate incidents.

Two second-half goals from Annabel Blanchard inflicted the damage as the Foxes were also forced to wait another week for their first win of the season.

Leicester City have won just one of their four previous away Midlands derbies in the WSL (D1 & L2).

Rachel Daly has scored in all four of her WSL appearances against Leicester City (5 goals).

The Last Meeting

Aston Villa were forced to settle for a point the last time they faced Leicester City as the sides drew 2-2 at the Bescot Stadium back in March.

Adriana Leon gave the Villans a first-half lead before Leicester immediately equalised through Yuka Momiki.

Sam Tierney nodded home from a free-kick to put the Foxes in front but Rachel Daly had the final say, lathing onto a Jordan Nobbs cross to ensure a share of the points.
