Aston Villa is delighted to confirm to supporters that our AV82 city centre shuttle bus service will continue to run on matchdays this season. This follows a successful trial of the service at the back end of last season.
The service will be in operation for all men’s home matches in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and all domestic cup competitions, helping supporters travel more easily to and from Villa Park.
Run by Stagecoach, the AV82 shuttle picks supporters up from outside Birmingham New Street Station on Dudley Street, running directly to Villa Park. Buses run every 15 minutes, starting three hours before kick-off for every home fixture. Services run back to Birmingham New Street at regular intervals for up to 90 minutes after the final whistle of every game, with services departing from Grosvenor Road, on the walking route towards Aston Station.
A return ticket for the shuttle bus is £5 and single tickets are available for £3. Tickets can be purchased with cash or card from the bus driver, or purchased in advance through the Stagecoach app. A discounted group return ticket is available for £15 where 4 passengers can travel for the price of 3. This group return ticket can be purchased on board from the bus driver. Unfortunately, nBus, concessionary passes and the government’s £2 Help for Household single are not valid on the service.
Launching this season, the club is also pleased to announce that an AV82 Season Ticket is now available, valid on all matchdays. The ticket can be purchased through Stagecoach’s app and offers a 20% discount against the cost of buying individual return bus tickets for all our Premier League and UEFA Champions League group stage games.
Commenting on the return of the shuttle bus, Andrew Watkin, Transport Officer at Aston Villa, said: “We are really pleased to be able to confirm to supporters that the AV82 will continue to run for the new season. We had really positive feedback from fans who used the buses last season, and we hope the service continues to provide a comfortable and efficient way to get to and from Villa Park.”
Ian Campbell, Operations Manager at Stagecoach, added: “We are delighted to be continuing our support to Aston Villa and its supporters with our fast and affordable shuttle services. We look forward to welcoming both our regular passengers and new passengers on the services this season.”
All of the buses used on the AV82 route are fully accessible for wheelchair users and have low floors to make it easier for fans who use wheelchairs and mobility scooters or for those with small children and pushchairs.
The buses can be used by both home and away supporters.
