Matheus Cunha is set to sign a new long-term contract with Wolves, talkSPORT understands.
It is understood that the new agreement has practically been agreed and therefore it is only a matter of time before he commits his future to the club.
It has been suggested that Cunha will move away from the club in this January transfer window, with manchester united bound.
This bond intensified when the striker appeared to like a social media post that suggested He would move to Old Trafford.
Speculation has also increased over a possible move to Tottenham, with Jason Cundy suggesting in November that he will surely leave for bigger and better things.
Cundy told talkSPORT: “This kid has a lot of quality.
“The ball at your feet, it travels at a pace, there are not many players who can travel at the same pace with the ball at their feet as in a sprint.
“He will end up leaving Wolves, he will end up being too good for them, he is a top-class player.”
But that speculation will now be nullified in the future.
Cunha has scored 10 goals in 19 Premier League appearances so far this season and has also provided four assists.
The striker is Wolves' key player and his performances have allowed his team to get out of the relegation zone.
Signing him to a new long-term contract will be a huge boost for the club and new manager Vitor Pereira.
Wolves will be desperate to retain their key players with the club dangerously close to the relegation zone mid-season.
But with Cunha set to extend his stay, fans will be hopeful he can inspire the team to survive in the top flight.
