Earlier this week, it was reported by reputable sources that Mats Hummels had flown to Palma to discuss with Mallorca. The 35-year-old defender, formerly of Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, is currently a free agent.
However, the story involving Hummels and Mallorca has been proven false. According to Marco Antonio Sande, an unauthorized agent was responsible for the story, and held alleged negotiations with the Balearic club without the consent of the German defender or his family/entourage.
Fabrizio Romanu confirmed this, and also noted that Real Sociedade is in negotiations with Hummels' representatives.

Royal Society they need a new central defender after the sale of Robin Le Normand to Atletico Madrid, and Hummels would be a fantastic addition to a relatively young group of players. The club itself will be one to watch in the remaining days of the summer transfer window, as are to receive significant funds from the move of Mikel Merino to Arsenal.
