Matteo Moretto gives Football España exclusive information on the latest business dominating the newspapers in Spain, as revealed in Daily Briefing by Fabrizio Romano.
Barcelona, one way or another, must free up some space in their salary cap. At first, very few could see Ilkay Gundogan being one of the victims of that situation. As the weeks have passed, however, some things have changed, and now Manchester City are in talks with their agents. There have been and are inquiries from Turkey about Gundogan, but the relationship he has with Pep Guardiola could be key as to where he ends up.
I think Gundogan is closer to leaving than he is to staying. Barcelona, little by little, remembers what the future holds without Gundogan, even if only for a year. As we know, things can change very quickly in the transfer market.
I can't say that I have confirmed it, it is quite possible that Gundogan leaves on a free, how did he come.
As it is, Barcelona are working on those four names as departures; Clement Lenglet, Mikayil Faye, Vitor Roque and Gundogan. Lenglet is waiting for Atletico Madrid, Roque has options to go on loan in Spain, while Sporting CP is for him with a permanent deal. They offer almost 30 million euros for him including bonuses, and the coming hours seem like they could be decisive regarding his future.
With Mikayil Faye, Inter was linked to him, but in the end he decided to look for other options. The offer from Rennes has also emerged, they remain in the running, and it remains to be seen if they can seal a definitive agreement with Barcelona.
So there are some players who are currently staying, but may end up leaving. For example, as it is, Pablo Torre stays, Hector Fort stays, but these are situations that could change in the last 10-11 days of the transfer market. We will see if these are final decisions or not. Now, I have no indication that Ferran Torres could leave.
U Alphonso Davies The matter continues to be one that is on the table for Real Madrid, but it seems more like something for next season, in the same way that David Alaba reduced his contract and then joins Real Madrid for free . For players who are out of contract, and want to have the choice, they often want to go to Real Madrid. I think that is a matter that should be dealt with online.
Bayern Munich now know that Davies can and will have another year left on his contract – they have already accepted that they will lose him.
Matteo Moretto will be back with more transfer news in the coming days, providing exclusive information on the biggest stories in Spain and Italy.
