Matthijs de Ligt’s Bayern Munich future is at a standstill

According to Sky Germany, Matthijs de Ligt’s future at Bayern Munich is currently at a standstill.

Over the course of the summer transfer window, Manchester United’s pursuit of de Ligt has been heavily reported. However, despite a transfer looking almost complete at one stage, as it stands, a move to Old Trafford for the Dutch defender is not a guarantee.

The Red Devils have reiterated that, after the signing of Leny Yoro from Lille, they are unwilling to match Bayern’s €50 million valuation of de Ligt.

Nevertheless, Der Rekordmeister are refusing to budge on their valuation, making a deal with United significantly more difficult. As well as this, a recent injury to Hiroki Ito has meant that Bayern are considering keeping de Ligt at the club to ensure they are not left light in defensive areas.

Therefore, de Ligt has returned to training in Bavaria, alongside other members of the Bayern squad who featured at Euro 2024 and the Copa America, like Harry Kane and Alphonso Davies.

It is understood that the Dutchman is not concerned about his future, but he does have hopes of signing for United this summer.
