Mauricio Pochettino is not under any immediate threat of being sacked as Chelsea manager, talkSPORT understands.
The Blues boss has come under fire amid even more poor results this season and in his last outing they were destroyed by Wolves last weekend. losing 4-2 at Stamford Bridge.
The result leaves Chelsea 11th in the Premier League table and fans expressed their displeasure on Sunday when the team was booed at full-time while chants of 'we're f—ed' could be heard from the stands during the match.
Pochettino apologized to Chelsea fans after the result, but that, plus their 4-1 defeat to Liverpool earlier in the week, raised further doubts over his status at the club.
Chelsea's owners would prefer to evaluate the work done by Pochettino at the end of the season.
It appears the former Tottenham boss's job at Chelsea is secure for now, but co-owner Todd Boehly has a history of not giving coaches much time.
In September 2022, Boehly took the shocking step of sacking Thomas Tuchel, who guided the club to Champions League glory just over a year earlier, less than four months after taking control of the club.
And Tuchel's successor, Graham Potter, was relieved of his duties less than seven months after accepting the role.
The writing may not be clear at the moment, but Pochettino is by no means out of the woods after his team's latest problem.
During the match, several Chelsea fans turned on him, while Thiago Silva's wife Belle posted a cryptic message appearing to ask for the 51-year-old to leave.
And Pochettino admitted his job is not secure with Chelsea currently languishing.
“We're not good enough (on Sunday),” he said. “Me too. I am responsible for this situation. What we showed today was not good enough.
“We didn't manage the situation properly and of course no one can be safe. I don't want to come here and say I'm the best. We're all responsible.”
“The players must take responsibility like I take responsibility. At the moment we are not matching the history of the club. That's true. We need to accept it, be critical but we cannot give up.
“We will work hard to change. If it doesn't work this way, we need to move on and find a different solution.”
