Both Bild and kicker report that Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix is likely to leave the club in the summer, with his contract expiring next year.
Lacroix has attracted interest from AC Milan, PSG, Juventus and Crystal Palace, with former coach Oliver Glasner interested in reuniting with the 24-year-old. It is said that Lacroix’s preference would be a move to a club that regularly plays European football.
Wolfsburg are already looking for a replacement for the Frenchman with Liverpool’s defender Sepp van den Berg a candidate as he impressed while on loan at Mainz as well as Napoli defender Leo Østigard. The Norwegian will likely cost less than the roughly €20m fee that Wolfsburg would need to spend to bring van den Berg to the club.
Ever since his breakthrough season at Wolfsburg, Lacroix has struggled to reach the heights that he did under Glasner, while this season he has struggled with discipline having been sent off three times, the most in the Bundesliga.
