Another round of Premier League madness was on display on Saturday with late winners, a red card and drama in the title race.
Five matches across the country produced a total of 14 goals, and the hectic festive schedule is already underway.
Arsenal were unable to overcome Chelsea as they drew 0-0 with Everton and ten-man Liverpool drew 2-2 at home to Fulham.
Newcastle United thrashed Leicester City 4-0, while Ipswich Town won their second game of the season with an injury-time goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The early afternoon was possibly the best of all as Nottingham Forest came from behind to beat Aston Villa 2-1.
With great results at both the top and bottom of the table, talkSPORT duo Jamie O'Hara and Jason Cundy reveal their winners and losers from Saturday's matches on the GameDay Phone-In…
MORE ABOUT THE PREMIER LEAGUE
Winners
Antonio Robinson
Robinson was one of the stars in a Fulham Team that took the lead twice against Liverpool at Anfield.
The left back had to fight against one of the best players so far this season in Mohamed Salah and he emerged victorious.
Cundy said: “Antonee Robinson, Fulham left-back. He has ups and downs and quality…
“He had two assists today, but his overall performance against possibly, I mean probably, the best right-back in the Premier League for many years, if not the best.”
And he added: “I'm talking about the best at the moment, Salah, he kept it very quiet. I know they were left with ten men, Liverpool, it made it much more complicated, but it doesn't take anything away from his performance, I thought that “He was the best player on the field.”
Jacob Murphy and Eddie Howe
Newcastle returned to St. James' Park in desperate need of three points after a four-match winless run in the Premier League.
The Magpies stood out against Leicester with their highest score of the season, with Murphy scoring their first and fourth goals of the afternoon.
“Jacob Murphy gets two goals,” Cundy said, before praising the Newcastle manager. “Eddie Howe, his post-match presser, talked about the performances, about how they need to be a bit more like that.
“It's been a bit frustrating this season for Newcastle, but they sent away a team like Leicester where you should be doing that.
“That doesn't always happen like that in football, but four flattered Leicester, meaning (Alexander) Isak missed a big one-on-one, it was a bad finish by their standards.
“It could have been five, it could have been six, it could have been more, but well done Newcastle, they are behind the top four at the moment.”
Jack Taylor
Ipswich have taken a big step out of the Premier League relegation zone with a beautiful away victory against Wolves.
A Matt Doherty own goal put them ahead in the first half before Taylor's unmarked header in stoppage time sealed the deal.
Cundy explained: “Finally, Jack Taylor. Late, late, late, late goal securing Ipswich (the win), huge.
“All the Tractor Boys coming back to Suffolk at the moment will be… It's one of those games, you know, that's why you follow football, late winners are like that.”
“It's a free header, it's a bad goal conceded defensively,” he added. “Don't take anything away from Taylor. He's there, in the right place, at the right time, well done Ipswich.”
Losers
Andy Robertson and Tony Harrington
Liverpool were reduced to ten men after just 16 minutes against Fulham after Robertson was sent off for his tackle on Wilson.
He was deemed to have denied a scoring opportunity but Cundy believes referee Harrington is also worthy of being an underdog this week.
“He's there, but (put) Tony Harrington there too, mate, the referee, mate,” he said.
“So Robertson is out?” O'Hara asked, and Cundy replied, “I don't know about that, man. I'd like to hear a conversation in a quiet, dark room between the two of them. Andy Robertson walked in there because…
“By the way, he got into trouble, it was a bad tackle on his part. Positionally, he gave the referee the decision. (Harry) Wilson does it well… I don't think it's a red card.
“When you give the referee a decision, sometimes he makes decisions that you don't want him to make, so he's in it, but halfway through, he and Harrington can share it.”
Gary O'Neil
wolf boss o'neil He has come under increasing pressure of late as his team has only won twice all season.
Home defeat to Ipswich leaves them four points adrift of safety and the hosts of talkSPORT's GameDay Phone-In have expressed concerns over his position as head coach.
“Oh Gaz, Gaz. It's a terrible result for them, even a 1-1 would have been great, a decision will have to be made very soon on that.
“Look, Gary has been in football all his life, he knows the history, he's not stupid, he knows what position he's in, I fear for their safety in the future because it looks like they're doomed at the moment.
O'Hara said: “I think it might be time to make a change, and it's not because I'm a bad manager…
“I think he's a brilliant young coach,” Cundy insisted. “I think he will continue to be brilliant. I think we will see him in the Premier League for many years to come.”
Mikel Arteta
Arsenal had to settle for a sixth league draw of the season as they could not find a way past Everton at home.
Goals from set pieces have worked wonders for them lately, but they were not repeated on Saturday, with one of Arteta questioned substitutions.
“I have to get in there, bottle it!” shouted O'Hara, a former Tottenham player.
“People talk about taking off Rice and (Odegaard)“Odegaard is the one,” Cundy said.
“I understand Rice, Jorginho comes in, Jorginho is a different type of midfielder to Rice, I understand that, he's a bit more creative than Rice.
“The Odegaard thing, the only thing I can think about with Odegaard is that he recovered from an injury in the last month. He's played a lot of football, he's been brilliant for them, very, very good, but when you need a goal, you want your best dog.
“Unless there's a hit, unless we're doing him a disservice, unless there's a hiccup, which didn't seem to be the way it went, I thought it was a very strange decision.”
There's still plenty more action to come this weekend, including the derby between Manchester City and Manchester United on Sunday.
