Unai Emery has shuffled his pack ahead of his side’s Carabao Cup round four clash with Crystal Palace at Villa Park.
There are starts for Boubacar Kamara and Tyrone Mings, with the latter set for his first senior minutes since the opening day of 2023/24, and the former making his first start since returning from a long-term knee injury of his own.
Captain John McGinn is the only player to keep his place in the XI from Saturday’s draw with Bournemouth, as Emery makes 10 changes.
Joe Gauci, Kosta Nedeljković, Leon Bailey and Emi Buendía are back in the starting line-up, having all featured from the beginning in Villa’s round three victory at Wycombe Wanderers, while Jhon Durán and Ian Maatsen are reinstated after being named in the XI which took on Bologna in the Champions League last week.
