Mohamed Salah created Premier League history with Liverpool's 5-0 win over West Ham on Sunday as the striker continues to attract attention.

He 32 years He contributed a goal and two assists at the London Stadium to help the Reds extend their lead to eight points at the top of the table.

After Luis Díaz broke the deadlock in the 30th minute, Salah received the assist for Cody Gakpo to score the visitors' second.

Salah cursed Konstantinos Mavropanos in the box, before slotting a pass through Max Kilman's legs to gift Gakpo an open goal in the 30th minute.

And then Salah put the cherry on top of what was a perfect first half for Arne Slot's men by scoring a third for Liverpool.

Found unmarked inside the edge of the area by Curtis Jones, Salah took a touch, before firing a shot towards the near post that proved too hot for Alphonse Areola.

In doing so, Salah became the first player in Premier League history to score and assist in eight games in a single season.

He was tied with Harry Kane, Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, Bruno Fernandes and Robin van Persie on seven.

And for good measure, Salah showed up with another assist, this time for Diogo Jota, who made it 5-0 in the 84th minute after Trent Alexander-Arnold's deflected long-range shot early in the second half.

Salah has also scored or assisted in 11 consecutive Premier League games.

This has been done only seven times since the creation of the Premier League in 1992.

The Egyptian striker has achieved the feat twice previously, having been directly involved in goals in 15 consecutive matches in 2021 and 12 in 2023.

In what has been a sensational campaign for Salah, he has now been involved in a whopping 37 goals in all competitions.

He is just two goals shy of his total of 39 goal involvements from last season.

Salah is the Premier League's top scorer with 17 goals, while he also leads the assists chart with 13.

No one in the history of the Premier League has reached 30 goals in less time than Salah (18 games).

He is only the second player to do so after Luis Suárez, who needed 19 games to reach the tally in the 2013/14 campaign.

It was not until Boxing Day that Salah joined a exclusive club of scoring a century of goals in the local league.

In what has been an impressive 2024 for the former Chelsea player, no player has been involved in more goals than Salah this calendar year in Europe's top five leagues.

Salah has 52 goal involvements (29 goals, 23 assists) to show why many consider him the best fit player in the world.

But with the player free to talk to foreign clubs in January about a free transfer, Liverpool fans will be desperate for him to extend his stay at Anfield.

However, for Salah, all attention will be on this season and the silverware he could end up getting in May.

Liverpool are eight points clear at the top as they look to win their second Premier League title.

Slot's team remains in contention to win all four trophies, with the Carabao Cup champions facing Tottenham for a place in the final in March.
