According to Florian Plettenberg, RB Leipzig centre-back Mohamed Simakan is set to undergo a medical for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.
It had previously been reported that Die Roten Bullen were willing to allow Simakan to leave before the end of the transfer window, should they receive a lucrative fee for the Frenchman.
With Barcelona, Newcastle United, and Liverpool all interested in the 24-year-old, Simakan ultimately appears to be heading to the Saudi Pro League.
Barcelona had already walked away from a deal for the defender due to the price tag placed upon him by Leipzig, while Newcastle and Liverpool never made their interest concrete.
However, Al-Nassr have been attempting to reach an agreement with Die Roten Bullen for the past 48 hours and have now agreed to sign the 24-year-old.
As stated in the report, the Saudi Arabian side will pay €45 million for Simakan, who will sign a long-term deal for the club, set to be worth €15 million a year.
The Frenchman is expected to undergo a medical in Germany before travelling to Saudi Arabia in the next two days, where he will be announced as an Al-Nassr player.
As previously reported, Leipzig are looking to find a replacement for Simakan, with Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geertruida set to join the club.
