More details are emerging about the supposed conflict between Pedri and former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez
Much has been made in Spain of Pedri's comments that Barcelona are training better and differently under Hansi Flick compared to Xavi Hernandez, with some reading them as a blow to the former coach. Various stories have emerged regarding their relationship.
The latter, as revealed by Cadena SER and presented by AS Diaryit is about the fitness of the Canary Islands. Peter saw his season punctuated by injuries last year, never really getting into full swing. Santi Ovalle affirmed that a point of tension between the two is that Pedri felt that he was taken over in the games by his coach.

In the past it was also reported that Pedri was under the impression that Xavi he had told the club that he was expendable, and he would be willing to part with him for the right offer. However, the Catalan coach then spoke to make sure that was not the case. This story is not the only suggestion that their relationship was not as good as it could have been towards the end of Xavi's spell as Barcelona manager.
