kicker reports that Wolfsburg defender Moritz Jenz is a candidate for Hoffenheim as the club continues their search for centre-back options.
It is widely known that Hoffenheim are looking to improve their options at centre-back this summer but has had a hard time doing so. So far the club had reached agreements with three different centre-backs, Le Havre’s Étienne Youté Kinkoué, Red Bull Salzburg’s Oumar Solet and former Bochum central defender Armel Bella-Kotchap and all three deals have collapsed at various stages for various reasons.
Hoffenheim must now turn their attention elsewhere. Wolfsburg’s Mortiz Jenz is a candidate but Hoffenheim’s main focus is Augsburg’s Felix Uduokahi. interim sporting director Frank Kramer is leading the charge for the 26-year-old but has yet to hold negotiations with Augsburg over a transfer fee. The likely fee for the defender will be around €4m, reports Sky Germany.
This all continues a hectic summer at the PreZero Arena as sporting director Alexander Rosen as well as a host of other directors have left the club, while head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo was linked with the US Men’s National Team role but decided to stay.
