Napoli have identified the recent Atletico Madrid star as a low-cost defensive option

On Sunday, Atletico Madrid confirmed the departure of Mario Hermoso. It has been known for some time that the 29-year-old will leave Civitas Metropolitano when his contract expires, so it is surprising that he has yet to agree terms with any club.

It has become apparent that Italy appears to be the most likely destination for Hermoso, who has been linked with Inter Milan and Naples in recent months. The latter seem to be well placed, even if they do not consider former athletes to be a priority.

Ace for AS Diary, Hermoso is a low-cost alternative to Alessandro Buongiorno, for whom Napoli is advancing. He has also attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, although a move to Italy seems more plausible.

Atletico Madrid I have already left Hermoso, with plans being made to replace him with David Hancko from Feyenoord. They are favored to sign the Slovakian defender, whose future could be decided in the coming weeks.
