Newcastle receive investigation from Premier League rivals Chelsea over Alexander Isak

Chelsea have made an inquiry with Newcastle to sign Alexander Isak.

As reported by the daily mailChelsea have indicated to Newcastle who want to sign the forward Isaac in the middle of club conversations.

However, it is said they would have to pay a club record fee of £1.115 million north of their club, which was spent to sign midfielder Moisés Caicedo last summer, to land Isak.

It had previously been reported that Chelsea's rivals Arsenal also had interest in Isak amidst his impressive efforts at Newcastle.

The Swedish international scored 25 goals in all competitions last season, including 35 in total during his two years at the club.

talkSPORT reported in April that Newcastle are targeting renegotiate Isak's contract to defend against interest in their star striker.

Chelsea are now ready to complete an offensive signing this summer, as offered a contract to Barcelona forward Marc Guiu.

The 18-year-old has a release clause of €6m (£5.07m) and the Blues see huge selling potential in him.

Guiu, and now Isak, have pursued a series of attacking options to link them with a summer move to Stamford Bridge.

There has been speculation that RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, Aston Villa's Jhon Durán and Atlético Madrid's Samu Omorodion are targets.

Chelsea have so far announced two new signings in this window, the first being the free loan of Tosin Adarabioyo after leaving Fulham.

The Blues confirmed on Saturday that they have agreed to a deal for Palmeiras winger Estevao Willian, who will join next summer.

Furthermore, Chelsea are closing in in a £19m deal with Aston Villa to sign 18-year-old midfielder Omari Kellyman.

However, they will lose Dutch full-back Ian Maatsen, who is heading in the opposite direction to Villa Park in a £35million-plus deal.
