Newcastle star compared to Diego Maradona could sign for Nottingham Forest for £30m

Newcastle midfielder Elliot Anderson will undergo a medical with Nottingham Forest today.

The 21-year-old will swap St James' Park for the City Ground in a deal believed to be worth around £30million.

The youngster has been part of Newcastle's first-team for two seasons following a successful loan spell with Bristol Rovers in the 2021/22 season.

Last season, Anderson made 21 Premier League appearances and also featured twice in the Champions League.

The first came in a 0-0 draw at the San Siro against AC Milan, and the second in the Magpies' famous 4-1 win over Paris Saint Germain.

Anderson likely would have played more, too, but he missed the middle part of the season with a back injury.
