As reported by The Mirror (via Bild), Newcastle United are looking to sign Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry.
It is understood that the Premier League outfit have already begun the process of luring Gnabry to the club. As well as this, the report states that Newcastle are ready to make an opening offer for the 29-year-old.
The Magpies are willing to submit a €46.5 million bid to Der Rekordmeister as they look to add the former Arsenal forward to their attacking options. However, completing the transfer could prove difficult for Newcastle.
As it stands, Gnabry is not looking to leave Bayern and is instead hoping to extend his deal at the Allianz Arena. Therefore, convincing the 29-year-old to return to England may be a tricky task for the Magpies.
Nevertheless, Bayern’s perspective is said to be very different from Gnabry’s. The record champions would be interested in moving Gnabry on this summer, especially after the signing of Michael Olise and the potential new signing of Désiré Doué.
With Der Rekordmeister rejuvenating their attacking line, Gnabry may find his game time significantly limited next season. Should the forward want to feature week in and week out, then a move away from Bavaria may prove to be the only option.
