He then signed a new contract at St James' Park and, since the beginning of December, has shown the form that made him successful last season.

Since scoring in the 3-3 draw against Liverpool, Gordon has directly contributed to nine goals in all competitions.

He is currently scoring or assisting in every Newcastle game and is flying under the radar due to Isak's form.

Harvey Barnes is expected to be out for a month with a thigh problem.

Nick Pope and Callum Wilson are closing in on returns and should return soon, but it may be too soon.

Howe is most likely to name an unchanged team after watching the Magpies beat Wolves.

Bournemouth have a problem with their forwards, with Evanilson and Enes Unal out with long-term injuries.

Toon boss Howe praised Isak after he scored for the eighth consecutive league game, moving him closer to Jamie Vardy's record.

After another double from the Swede, Howe said: “It's an incredible achievement.

“This is the hardest league in the world to score, especially with the schedule we've had.

“He always has that extra split second to finish because of his technical attributes.”
