kicker reports that next season will likely be the last season as a professional footballer for Thomas Müller as he will look to retire in 2025.
Müller signed a one-year extension at Bayern until 2025 earlier this season but he has still seen a reduction in playing time this season, with most of his appearances coming off of the bench. This season, Müller has played 35 times for Bayern, scoring five and assisting eight.
It could also prove to be the best send-off for the 34-year-old as next year’s Champions League final will be held at the Allianz Arena.
However, Bayern will look to keep Müller involved at the club in one way or another.
The 34-year-old is the definition of a one-club man having spent the entirety of his career at Bayern having supported the club as a child and has been a stalwart alongside Manuel Neuer in Bayern’s success over the past decade.
