Nicky Butt has named Kieran McKenna the best coach he has ever seen.
He ipswich town The boss has guided the Tractor Boys to consecutive promotions since his arrival in 2021.
He was even linked to people like Chelsea and manchester united in the previous summer signing a new four-year contract on Portman Road.
Butt previously worked together McKenna during their time together at United.
McKenna was a scout, under-18s manager and assistant manager during his time at Old Trafford.
He served under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho as well as temporary managers Ralf Rangnick and Michael Carrick for five years with the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, former United midfielder Butt spent time as the club's academy director and development director during the same period.
The former England international praised McKenna when he appeared on White & Jordan.
He explained: “I'm telling you now, Kieran McKenna is one of the best coaches I've ever seen on the pitch.
“I'll put him up there with anyone I've ever seen, and that includes Carlos Quiroz, all the great coaches I've worked with, Steve McClaren.
“He is as good as any of them, but he is having a hard time. Why? Because he is in charge of a team that is not one of the best in the Premier League.
“They've just had two promotions, so it's going to be a tough year for them.
“If I had played for a top team like Arsenal or somewhere else, I'm pretty sure I'd be flying. And I think that's the honest answer, it's not a bitter thing.”
Ipswich handed McKenna his first senior management role less than three years ago, having previously held coaching roles at Nottingham ForestLeicester and Tottenham.
Butt added: “And I think the one thing about Kieran, going back to Kieran, is that he was very intelligent.
“He didn't jump to a club he could have gone to in the summer, because he knew that at the right club, if you make a mistake, you'll go back to the bottom of the ladder and start again.”
McKenna is still waiting for his first Premier League win, with Ipswich currently in 18th place with five points from 10 games.
However, the 38-year-old has already won two promotions after leading the League One club to the top flight.
