'Nonsense': Piers Morgan responds to Bernardo Silva's Arsenal taunt and says Manchester City are 'shocked' after draw
Piers Morgan has emphatically dismissed Bernardo Silva's claim about Arsenal and branded Manchester City “shocked” after their entertaining clash.
City scored in second-half stoppage time to rescue a 2-2 draw against The gunnerswhich saw Leandro Trossard sent off before half-time.
Ten-man Arsenal deployed determined defensive tactics to maintain their 2-1 lead, but to no avail. Silva mocking the London team afterwards when they talked about their game plan and rivalry.
“What's the difference[between City's rivalry with Arsenal and Liverpool]? I don't know,” he said.
“Maybe Liverpool have already won a Premier League and Arsenal haven't. Maybe Liverpool have already won a Champions League and Arsenal haven't.

“Liverpool have always played us head-to-head to try and win games, so from that perspective the games against Arsenal have not been like the ones we have had and have against Liverpool. So yes, maybe a different rivalry.”
Silva also appeared to remind Arsenal of their lack of major trophies by waving a zero to defender Gabriel.
However, the Gunners super fan and broadcaster Morgan He has rejected the City player's comments and defended his team's performance.
“What a load of rubbish,” he said in response on talkSPORT Breakfast. “When we were 11v11, let me remind you we were hammering them so hard.
“It should have been three if Gabriel scored a brilliant header, but he missed an easier goal a few minutes earlier. We were on top of each other like crazy! And by the way, why did City still have 11 players?
“Why Haaland, who tried to decapitate Gabriel with the ball, right, he was running over players…? Why Walker, who in the video of the goal, Walker puts Gabriel on, does a terrible job, fortunately, but he is prodding him as if he had an electric prod? Where are the red and yellow cards for these wrongdoers?

Presenter Jeff Stelling then read out a text from City fan Richard, which said: “Piers is an insufferable, pantomime villain who has no element of objectivity whatsoever. A team threatened by relegation would not play like this.”
However, Morgan ignored him and replied: “I'm baffled. They've lost that confidence, they're baffled.”

City took the lead in the ninth minute through Erling Haaland, but Arsenal responded quickly with a superb goal from Riccardo Calafiori.
Gabriel then headed in a corner on the stroke of half-time for the Gunners, who saw Trossard sent off in added time.
The winger first picked up a yellow card for holding up Savinho on the counter-attack before delaying the restart after fouling Silva.
City enjoyed much of the possession in the second half as they sought an equaliser, though they struggled to find it.
Their efforts were finally rewarded in the dying moments when John Stones slotted the ball home from close range, as Arsenal players fell to the ground in disbelief.
As expected, the City players were euphoric and Haaland was seen launching the ball. at the head of Gabriel in the aftermath.
