'Not the best look': Manchester United fans upset over Luke Shaw's TikTok video with Molly-Mae Hague
Luke Shaw has been accused of lack of conscience after appearing in a TikTok video alongside Molly-Mae Hague..
In a clip that has gone viral, Shawn was seen taking part in a trend where people are lip-syncing the lyrics to the song 'Mugshot' by Pete and Bas on the video-sharing platform.
The cheerful video was filmed on New Year's Eve at a party Shaw attended with her partner Anouska and tommy furyLove Island star and ex-girlfriend Molly-Mae.
In the short clip, Shaw makes a brief appearance around the 11-second mark, where he mimed the lyrics: “Your mom's getting benefits.”
His cameo has enraged United The fans, who have complained about his cheerful attitude while the club continues to disappoint.
United are 14th in the Premier League, just seven points off the bottom three, having lost five of their last six top-flight games.
And things could get worse for United, who have been beaten in four consecutive games in all competitions, with the club facing rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
Meanwhile, many United fans would prefer to see the injured Shaw work on his recovery plan after having played just 98 minutes of football this season spread across three substitute appearances.
United fan and talkSPORT reporter Angelina Kelly shares the same thoughts as many fans – insisting it's “not the best look” for Shaw.
Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast show, he said: “I think people are a bit confused.
“I don't think people realized there was a space where they (Shaw and Molly-Mae) coexisted together.
“But I think it's not the best look when you've been injured for four and a half years in total with Manchester United and you laugh and joke a bit on social media when Manchester United are playing.” in a really difficult time.
“That's why people are nervous, but I guess, on the other hand, footballers are human beings.
“If he appears in a video laughing and joking, is it the end of the world?
“But personally, I think if you're a footballer, you have X amount of money, like I said, you've been injured for so long, you have to have a bit of awareness.
“And you have to be aware of what that's going to look like, that maybe you're not too worried.
“We've heard it all before, big names at Manchester United. talking about when (Paul) Pogba and Jesse Lingard were dancing in the locker room after losing a match.
“Maybe it's a mentality thing that people just want to see, that the Man United players take this situation seriously.
“And I guess laughing and joking with Molly-Mae isn't the best look.”
It's safe to say that Shaw has been a major topic of conversation on social media, as one X user said: “Reason number 25474846 to get rid of Luke Shaw.”
Another United supporter posted: “Scrolling through TikTok and can't believe who just told me my mum is on benefits while my club fights relegation. My head is hot.”
A third added: “Manchester United are in the worst shape of my life and Luke Shaw is doing TikTok with Molly-Mae.”
This fan then messaged: “This is not acceptable from any Manchester United player, especially one whose contributions are minimal.”
Although there were fans who defended Shaw, who simply noted that he was having fun with his teammates outside of football.
This user commented: “Oh no, a guy enjoying a night out on Christmas/New Years with his friends.”
Another said: “The fans are so toxic it's embarrassing! Yes, a player is allowed to have fun and joke around during the New Year with his friends and family, get over it.”
Meanwhile, one claimed: “Why is everyone nervous about this Luke Shaw video, so people aren't allowed to have fun?”
