The Turkish transfer window is still open and will close on February 9, meaning deals can still be struck for Super Lig newcomers.

The 27-year-old was spotted in Turkey to watch Besiktas' match against Trabzonspor, who were also interested in his signature.

Worrall's future will be reviewed in the summer at Forestand the terms of the agreement contemplated him being loaned until the end of the season.

Agreements have now been finalized and conditions have been resolved between all parties and Besiktas will announce Worrall's arrival.

The defender has struggled to find playing time this season, making just seven appearances in the Premier League.

That includes just one league appearance since Nuno Espirito Santo arrived as new manager, and even that was just seconds off the bench in a 3-1 win over Newcastle on Boxing Day.

Worrall is a fan favorite at the City Ground, where he came through the academy before donning the armband.

In the absence of the injured Lewis Grabban, he took over as captain in 2021/22 and led Forest to the Premier League.

He was subsequently promoted to the role in 2022 ahead of his return to the top flight and was a regular last season when he made 30 appearances in the Premier League.

However, this season, the former England Under-21 international has fallen down the pecking order with Murillo, Mousa Niakhate, Willy Boly and Andrew Omobamidele ahead of him.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate carries his crying Senegal teammate Lamine Camara off the pitch like a baby after being eliminated from the AFCON.

Worrall only signed a three-year contract extension last summer before a disagreement with Cooper sidelined him.

He was absent from the squad that played against Bournemouth on Sunday.
