Manchester United agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazaroui last month, but the Moroccan’s move to Old Trafford hinges on Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaving the club.
However, as reported in England, Wan-Bissaka’s move to West Ham United has hit a stumbling block. Despite the London club willing to meet United’s valuation, the Hammers are unable to afford the defender’s £90,000-per-week wages.
West Ham had shown an initial interest in signing Mazraoui, but have now turned their attention towards Wan-Bissaka. However, Wan-Bissaka, who has a contract with Manchester United until 2025, appears to be hesitating, as reported via fussball.news.
But despite Manchester United keen on signing Mazraoui, they also have alternatives. The Athletic report that should Wan-Bissaka decide against a move to West Ham, they could use the right-back in a potential swap deal with Inter for Denzel Dumfries, who doesn’t intend on negotiating a new contract until the transfer window closes with 12 months remaining on his current deal.
Should West Ham fail to sign Wan-Bissaka and Manchester United opt to use the defender in a swap deal for Dumfries, it would have a knock-on effect for Bayern Munich, who intend on selling Mazraoui this summer.
